ERA in the News: April 12-18, 2019

Hello ERA Advocates!

Our biggest piece of news this week comes from API’s Advocacy Committee, as we announced our first-ever ERA Day (!!) event to be hosted by the Alice Paul Institute. Please join us at on June 30, 2019 at the home of Alice Paul, the author of the Equal Rights Amendment, as we reclaim the day that the ERA failed to ratify to the U.S. Constitution and offer women and men equal legal protections in America.

This amazing event is an opportunity to learn more about the ERA and celebrate the untold number of activists who have persisted for decades in the fight for equal rights! ERA Day will feature a dynamic panel discussion led by legal professionals and ERA advocates who will highlight the history of the ERA and current efforts across the nation to ratify it.

Attendees will also have a great opportunity to meet and connect with local and regional organizations working to advance equal rights, and attend a fun craft fair featuring women artists and vendors. We'll wrap the day with a networking cocktail hour and 80's-themed dance party!

We’ll share more information as the event gets closer, but in the meantime, please feel free to pass along the event information to any craft and business vendors (based in the Philadelphia metro region) or businesses interested in sponsoring this dynamic event. Tickets will be on sale soon!

Now onto the news:
